Shipping giant moves to Zen Plaza
In 2013, C&W were appointed as Maersk’s Tenant Representative to provide a strategy for their relocation taking into consideration their long term growth plan in the most cost efficient manner. The client's requirements were at its complexity with considerations on all business lines staying together or splitting into two groups, a preference to remain in CBD location while maintaining a low rental cost, and a need for more flexibility with future expansion and contraction during the lease term.
C&W’s long standing relationship with the Landlord and our understanding on their situation and their view on this as a unique opportunity to lease all the remaining space at the building allowed us to achieve the best result for our Client. After eight month of dedicated hard work and numerous negotiations, Maersk successfully relocated their head office to Zen Plaza. With our leasing team, the involvement of the project management team contributed significantly to the Client's success in relocating circa 2,800 sqm to the new office taking into consideration its scale and complexity. C&W Project Management provided turn-key PM services for the project, supporting the client in their selection of the Design-Build contractor, Furniture vendor, IT service provider, and Move coordination/execution services.
Originally occupying 6 floors and including 4 separate business units under the Maersk Vietnam flag, C&W helped strategically reorganize and plan for the new 3 full-floor layout. Each floor was designed with individual reception areas, meeting rooms, offices, relax areas, and extensive open plan workstations (400 headcounts). In addition, the new Board Room offers state-of-the-art audio/video presentation facilities and acoustically considered materials. Maersk handles hundreds of transactions daily and it was imperative that the organization not lose any business hours to serve clients.
